It Takes A Village to Raise a Championship Team!
The following is a short description of the volunteer positions needed for a DVGL season. At least one parent of each player is expected to support the team by signing up to volunteer for a position. We use Sign Up Genius so you can easily sign up online. See the Sign Up Genius links on the right panel on the home page for sign up/volunteer opportunities
2020 DVGL Game Day Volunteers

This position MUST be filled by at least 7 or more parents in order for our team to play each game. We need scorekeepers for both the JV and Varsity games. Parent participants keep statistics, time, and scores at ALL home games, as well as statistics at ALL away games.
ALL scorekeeper volunteers MUST attend a scorekeeper training on Jan. 31st, from 11am - 1pm, and become familiar with key statistics. Volunteers can rotate games.
The Field Marshall agrees to ensure spectators honor the game and exhibit good sportsmanship towards the officials and the opposing team. One Field Marshall is needed for each JV and Varsity game. Volunteers can rotate games.
FIELD LINE PAINTERS (we will train you):
The Field Line Painters paint the field lines before all home games and as needed for practices using supplied equipment. You MUST be willing to learn field layout and lining requirements and attend an information session held by AZGLA at the beginning of the season.
THUNDER BOARD REPRESENTATIVE:
The Thunder Board Representative attends the monthly Thunder Board meeting and communicates any pertinent information to the Girls Lacrosse Board members.
Coordinate volunteer rotations for team water for all home games. Water and ice (in a cooler) MUST be provided for each team (both JV and Varsity).
BEVERAGE/FOOD VOLUNTEER (1 per home game):
Food and Beverage volunteers bring water and emergency ice for ice packs in a cooler to EVERY HOME GAME. There needs to be enough water for both the home and away teams, both JV and Varsity games. This can be done on a rotational basis. You may also need to bring or acquire food donations for the team for any multiple game tournaments.
The Ride Coordinator agrees to coordinate the efforts of parent volunteers to ensure all players have rides to away games.
RIDE VOLUNTEERS (JV & Varsity):
Parent participants who volunteer to provide rides for players to away games as needed.
END OF YEAR BANQUET COORDINATOR:
END OF YEAR BANQUET VOLUNTEER:
Helps the Banquet Coordinator with obtaining/making decorations, coach and team gifts, etc. for the year end banquet while keeping them within the budget allotted.
SPIRIT WEAR VOLUNTEERS:
One or two coordinators who will lead the efforts of the fundraising volunteers in fundraising activities within the guidelines of the Thunder Board. Coordinator(s) will ensure consistent activities are planned throughout the year.
Volunteers who join this committee will participate in and help organize fundraising activities for the team.
